Programs

Along with the sports and fitness activities, Rae’s Hope provides a rich curriculum of Life Skills, Nutrition and Healthy Living, and Financial Literacy, along with Community Service activities to build balanced skills as foundations for self-reliant and fulfilling lives.

Through practices, classroom activities, league play, workshops, field trips, and mentoring, Rae’s Hope encourages youth to create and maintain healthy lifestyles, improve themselves, and build positive relationships.

Members build their self-esteem through persistence in the face of setbacks, which leads to achievement in tackling real-world standards.  Along the way, they learn teamwork and earn a sense of belonging to a positive social community.

Fitness and Healthy Living

While self-reliance is the overall goal for each of our members. it takes many skills and years of sustained effort to achieve it.

Rae’s Hope has generated many years of progress toward this goal by starting with something that engages the girls right away, brings them together routinely, and demonstrates the strengths and benefits of our major values – Improvement, Accountability, Learning, Teamwork, and Belonging.

We’ve found that Sports and Fitness is a great place to start! And for over 19 years, we’ve focused on Volleyball as a cornerstone of the Fitness pillar of Rae’s Hope’s balanced educational, social, and physical activities.

Once we pull individuals together and begin to build a sense of team, a sense of belonging, and a sense of reliance on one another, the foundations are laid to expand to the next logical steps of Nutrition and then Healthy Living.
